Boujaad (or often spelled as Boujad) rugs are loved by colletors all over the world for its unique designs that carry stories and tales of the weaver. Irregular patterning and designs are imbued with traditional Berber motifs that symbolise themes like fertility, marriage, and rural family life. This unique piece is handmade by women in a small region of Haouz, Morocco between the Middle Atlas and the Atlantic ocean. This Boujaad rug was handwoven using natural soft wool fibers and vegetable dyes to create this beautiful earthy red rug adorned with orange and blue diamond shaped motives and other traditional symbols.
